WAMU WAMU WAMU

I woke up today and immediately started calling WAMU. I couldn't believe what happened on Monday afternoon, it was totally out of the blue and ridiculous.
Basically in 2002 I purchased an investment property using them as my lender, then in 2004 I refinanced my loan. It turns out that they recorded the legal description incorrectly for the refi and misapplied my pin number. Basically they stopped paying my property taxes 4 years ago.
Fast forward to Monday afternoon when the call that came in was from someone that evidently purchased my condo in a tax sale. Rule number one check to make sure that your bank is paying your taxes, that is if you escrow them.
So as it turns out we are a year or so past the tax redemption period.
So wish me luck on getting my place back.
I hope WAMU doesn't stick me with the bill on this one

Fed up with outside agency's

This is the second time that I have been let down by outside phone support agencies.
I am not ready to disclose names, but man am I upset about it.
I wanted to hire a company for rln that would help me with follow up calls, and after months of looking I thought I found someone that could do it for me.
After they gave me a great pitch and a price quote and after I went ahead and got emotionally involved with them, they nailed me with a large set up fee that was not originally talked about up front. I am looking to shore up for next year as I feel I'll be busy. I want to be able to spend time with the kiddies and go on vacation while things move smoothly at home.
This past year I couldn't travel because I was chained to my desk and my phone.
Just when I thought It was going to get easy, Wham!

Spent With Chase

I just spent the last 4 hours at Chase Bank. I can't believe how far we have come with online banking. I remember listening to Howard Stern years ago and finding out about Netbank.
The first place where one could bank online. I immediately opened up some accounts there. It was great at first, until I realized that I had to mail in all my deposits, there were limits on the ATM's and the Atm's would not take deposits. The auto billpay was really great though.
So now there is a company that actually sends you a check scanner so you never have to walk into a bank again to make a deposit. Okay, I'll bite. It turns out that WAMU, my current bank does not have this option but Chase does. It will be available next week. I'm hoping that this make life a litte easier for me, and is worth the $50 monthly fee. By the way, I can't believe all the fees at Chase.
It is crazy. Maybe I'm better off with a thick mattress and a safe. In the end it will be will be worth all the hassle though, it's money it keeps people employed and the world spinning
It's not over yet, I still need to go back with more info on Thursday.

Office Crisis

Okay,
It's gotten to the point where I can't move around my desk.
Time,Fast Company and Inc are mixed in around my other paperwork.
I feel like it's a full time job just keeping my desk clean.
I'm excited that I'm going to meet with the marketing director of one of the Larger Housing complexes in Chicago.
It's time to lay the groundwork for the next 10-20 years in Corporate housing.
I'm excited to get RLN WorldGroup inc. off the ground in other buildings around the city.

I just found out that we can start using credit and debit to pay some of our venders, which may lead to some nice bonuses later on.

I am toying with the idea of building a new website Specifically for RLN.
That is another project that will keep me busy this winter.
I'm looking forward to a bust winter with lots of ideas that will come up and get turned into real world things.

Amazingrentals.net

One of my new businesses, amazingrentals.net. Hopefully will take off. Just what the world needs another vacation rental listing site. I know, I know. It's worth a shot though. I figure, even if it takes 10 years to make any money from it, it's worth it. The key is to have multiple streams of income. So this may become one of them. It is a great place to list your vacation rental, or B and B.
It is very basic now, but at some point if there is any revenue, it will become improved. I'm sure.
I currently have some of my property listed on the site, if you want to check it out here These are amazing three bedroom apartments that ovelook Lake Michigan and Navy Pier!
They are priced really well especially if you are coming in with a group of people and don't want multiple hotel rooms. I am looking for more people to sign up.
Go for it! We'd love to have you join our family.

Townhome

We just moved to Skokie and chose to try to rent out out previous townhome with furniture.
So far it has been a good move. The unit looks fantastic and hopefully will rent enough to at least break even for the month. Here are some pictures. It rents out for about $249 a night.
A great place for anyone coming to town for a few nights or weeks that doesn't want to be right downtown. It is located in a quiet area of Chicago, but really close to the brownline train.
5 min walk only. The Real Estate value is around $375k, so if it doesnt rent enough, Laurie and I will simply put it on the market in hopes that it will sell.
In this Real Estate market, nothing is certain though. Sometimes you just have to throw a bunch of property to the wall and hope that it sticks

Wanna Blog Some More

The Real Estate Market in Chicago is a fun and interesting place to be right now.
I have a listing coming up in River West. It's a beautiful townhome that will hopefully sell right away! It had a hot tub on the roof and a wet bar. Can't beat that!
